the new and the old…

We received a photo today of little Meadow, new daughter of Paula and Lee whom we welcomed a few weeks ago. I took the photo, played with it and sent it back to the new mom and dad. I like it. Meadow is such a soft, smooth, gorgeous little girl!

And what do you do with an old guy who has back pain?
Besides love him?
And SCENAR him from time to time?
And let him lie in the sun between patients?

Speaking of old, Maggie is over 15 now. She sleeps a lot. But she still loves to eat, and loves her food. She loves going outside for a drag (she’s never been a walker, she prefers sniffing every 1/4 square inch of this earth. Her ears have been pretty deaf, though I could swear recently that she has heard a few sounds. And her eyes are pretty good. Other than needing a nail trim, she’s pretty cool. And she loves sitting out on the deck once in a while, sniffing the air. She’s probably trying to figure out where the heck she is now, since she’s lived in eight houses so far. I wish we still had access to the doggy chiro. I think it would really make Maggie comfortable.

In this photo, the view is to Maggie’s left, but apparently the smells are straight ahead.

Hope everyone has a great St. Patty’s Day today! I wish I had a corned beef. I found the most succulent recipe last year… and this year – no corned beef! :-(

  1. The potcakes are darling but Meadow’s darlinger! Janet

  2. Well, Meadow you can’t carry in a bag under the seat in front of you.
And you don’t have to pay for college for a potcake.
I doubt Meadow licks people, but you never know. She’s young yet.
And she only has two legs. Not too practical.

  3. At least she can wear diapers and not have to be followed around with a baggie whenever you take her for a walk. I guess it remains to be seen whether she’ll bite – at one time or another most kids do though.

Norman always said that none of us were meant to be walking on two legs instead of down on all fours and that’s why we have back trouble.

Nonetheless, Meadow’s still darlinger than any puppy and I don’t think Paula and Lee would swap her for a potcake. Maybe when she’s 14? Janet
